Are you ready for summer? In today's blog, we’re looking at surviving the summer heat in Ocala with a car! The summers in Ocala are scorchers and can be damaging to the unprepared. So here are our top 5 tips for surviving the summer heat in Ocala!
Stay hydrated - it’s the most straightforward step on the list. Make sure you are getting enough water in the day. Being properly hydrated will prevent many other problems.
Keep up with current traffic - a check on LocalConditions.com can save you a lot of heartaches later. You can find out where traffic issues lie, like construction and hazards, or when bad weather is at issue.
Take fewer trips outdoors - the less time you spend on unorganized errands, the less heat you’ll have to bear. If you make lists of the shopping you need to do and plan trips, you’ll save time, money, and wear and tear both on you and your vehicle!
Pay attention to the time of day you are leaving for trips - try not to go out during peak traffic hours. Planning ahead can mean getting the best parking with shade or showing up at dusk when the sun is mercifully setting and no longer an issue. It can also mean avoiding being stuck in a traffic jam and having to keep the air conditioning on full blast.
Take good care of your air conditioning - your car’s air conditioning unit is a lifesaver in the summer heat. Don’t neglect it. If you see evidence of trouble ahead-- links, smells, lack of cool air from your vents-- bring your car to a qualified repair shop like PALS Ocala for a check-up.
