November 9th marks the 400th anniversary of the day passengers of the Mayflower spotted the Cape Cod shoreline after 65 days of hardship in the crossing, in which a new child was born (named Oceanus). Passenger William Brewster led the pilgrims in a reading of Psalm 100 to thank God for their arrival, to lands that mean renewal and freedom.
At Pals Ocala, we want to give thanks for so much this year. We want to thank you, our loyal and dear customers, for continuing to put your trust in us, as well as for exercising safe practices and consideration for others during the worst, most uncertain months. Pals Ocala Auto Repair managed to remain open during the pandemic and as essential workers, we helped our customers keep their cars running. Our staff has survived as well. While we grieve for the friends we have lost this year, we also celebrate those that survived… especially all the other essential workers and medical/emergency personnel in Ocala and the nation!
11/3/2020: The Presidential Election! It’s important to make your voice heard in every election, so we hope you’ll vote… but we also hope you’ve already taken care of this by mail-in ballot, as we want you to keep yourself and Ocala safe.
11/6 and 11/7/2020: Fenrir’s Mayhem is a two-day Viking-style competition for teams of three with a number of different divisions! It’s taking place at the CrossFit Iron Legion!
11/11/2020: Veteran’s Day. Today’s the day we honor all those who served their country in our armed services.
11/19/2020: A Christmas Carol has it’s opening night at the Ocala Civic Theater, and will run until December 20th! It’s a great way to get into the holiday spirit early with Charles Dickens’ classic tale of a lonely miser remembering the meaning of Christmas
11/25/2020: it’s National Juke Box Day! If your kids have never seen a juke box and you happen to be on the road today for the holidays, why not stop by your local Waffle House and take a blast into the past with an oldie or two?
11/26/2020: Thanksgiving! It’s been a very rough year, and if you have family that have been at war over politics, this is the moment of grace, to set all of the past behind you and be grateful to be able to move on together. If the situation has not improved enough to meet up for the traditional dinner, set aside tradition and reach out to each other with whatever means you have (phone, internet, etc.) and show your gratitude for the people still in your life.
